Siliski discussion date set

Dog breeder Jennifer Siliski is coming closer to her trial date.

While the actual trial date has not yet been set, Circuit Court Judge Russ Heldman did slate May 24 as a discussion date. That review will begin at 9 a.m.

“A discussion date is an opportunity for the attorneys to get together and see if they can reach a settlement without going to trial,” said Braden Boucek, Assistant District Attorney.

Siliski is charged with 30 counts of animal cruelty for the “deplorable conditions” of her home kennel where raised and bred Maltese dogs. The house, at 2235 Bowman Road in Franklin, was raided on Jan. 22 and had 230 animals inside. Officials at the scene said there were feces, IV bags, urine and trash throughout the house.

Currently, there are no other charges against Siliski, although the District Attorney General’s Office and numerous other federal, county and state agencies are still investigating the case.
